Bovensiepen 05 GT Delivers 800 HP. Its Design Comes from a BMW Legend

When the designer behind the original BMW X5 is involved, expectations are naturally high. The new Bovensiepen 05 GT doesn’t try to imitate BMW. Instead, it brings its own interpretation of a modern Grand Tourer, combining 800 horsepower, handcrafted luxury, and a design penned by Frank Stephenson.

The 05 GT is also significant for another reason. It marks the first model from Bovensiepen, the new company created by the family best known for building ALPINA into one of the most respected names in the BMW world.

The Bovensiepen Name Returns After ALPINA

For decades, the Bovensiepen family was synonymous with ALPINA. Their unique approach blended performance, refinement, and long-distance comfort in a way few manufacturers could match.

Following BMW’s acquisition of the ALPINA brand, many enthusiasts wondered what would come next for the family behind the company. The answer is Bovensiepen – a new chapter built around exclusive, high-performance automobiles.

The 05 GT is the first production model to carry the Bovensiepen name and represents the brand’s vision of modern grand touring.

Designed by the Creator of the Original BMW X5

The exterior was designed by Frank Stephenson, one of the most influential automotive designers of the modern era. BMW enthusiasts will recognize his name immediately, as he was responsible for the original BMW X5 and played a key role in shaping the modern MINI lineup.

Bovensiepen calls its design philosophy “Fine Driving.” The 05 GT introduces a distinctive wraparound design line that visually connects the front and rear sections of the vehicle while emphasizing its elegant proportions.

At the front, a laser-cut stainless-steel grille serves as the centerpiece. The design also references the earlier Bovensiepen Zagato and establishes a recognizable identity for the brand moving forward.

800 HP and 1,100 Nm of Torque

Performance figures place the Bovensiepen 05 GT firmly in supercar territory. The hybrid powertrain produces an impressive 589 kW, equivalent to 800 horsepower, alongside a massive 1,100 Nm of torque.

Key technical specifications:

  • Power Output: 800 hp (589 kW)
  • Torque: 1,100 Nm
  • 0–100 km/h: under 3.6 seconds
  • Top Speed: 305 km/h (190 mph)
  • Curb Weight: 2,555 kg

The powertrain benefits from an optimized intake system and a titanium Akrapovič exhaust. According to Bovensiepen, the exhaust system is 7.8 kilograms lighter than the standard setup while also delivering a more emotional soundtrack.

The company validated the vehicle’s performance through extensive testing at Nardò and Papenburg.

The 05 GT rides on bespoke 21-inch forged wheels featuring 20 precision-machined spokes. Specially developed Pirelli tires carrying the BOV designation were created specifically for this model.

Suspension duties are handled by Eibach springs and a dedicated strut brace designed to balance dynamic handling with long-distance comfort.

The result is a grand tourer intended to deliver both high-speed stability and everyday usability.
